Work to repair historic Teston bridge are set to start next month, and could take up to three weeks to complete.
Teston Lane will be closed and a diversion put in place while the emergency works are carried out, after a gaping hole appeared in the wall of the ancient structure.
Kent County Council, which is responsible for repairing the damage, estimates that the reconstruction is likely to cost around £20,000.
The works are set to begin on August 15.
Initially it was believed that a section of the crossing was damaged by storms, but after receiving dash cam footage of a potential collision, police were considering the possibility it may have been caused by a driver that left the scene without reporting it.
The damage was reported on June 23, causing for the road to be shut overnight while temporary barriers were put in place.
