Warning as club's building work progresses

MARGATE FC officials are warning the public to stay away from Hartsdown Park while re- building work goes on at the ground.

In the first of a weekly series of updates, the club said: "In the interests of safety to both supporters and other members of the public, we urge people not to visit the ground. Anyone on site without permission will be removed.”

An archaeology study is now close to completion, after more than five and half thousand tons of brick earth and top soil was dug up to allow experts to continue checking the site and logging any finds.

Extra machinery has been brought in to speed up the process, with a 30 ton digger among equipment being used.
