KEITH PEACOCK’S long association with Charlton ended on Tuesday with him leaving the club along with first team coach Mervyn Day.
Peacock, the club’s 60-year-old assistant manager, follows Alan Curbishley out of the door, while the club have appointed former football agent Andrew Mills as general manager – football.
Peacock had been at The Valley for more than 40 years and his 591 games for the club place him second on the all-time list behind goalkeeper Sam Bartram.
Richard Murray, Charlton’s plc chairman, said: "Following the departure of Alan Curbishley, we intend to reorganise the football management structure and to bring in a new management team to take the club forward.
"Keith Peacock is a Charlton legend and has made an immense contribution to this football club.
"He wishes to take a break from football and we have discussed the possibility of him assuming a role with the club in the future."
