A woman has died after a three-vehicle crash on the A28 at Godmersham on Saturday.

Three vehicles were involved in the crash at 3.35pm – a yellow Renault recovery lorry, a white Ford Transit van and a silver Suzuki Wagon.

It's believed the breakdown lorry was recovering the Ford Transit van, which had broken down, when the Suzuki Wagon hit both vehicles.

The occupants of the Suzuki Wagon, which had been travelling towards Ashford, were a male driver and a female passenger, both from the Folkestone area.

Both were taken to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford with serious injuries. Later that evening the female passenger died at hospital.

PC Dave Jeeves of the Kent Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “We are appealing for anyone who saw the collision or who remembers seeing any of the three vehicles involved in the minutes before it happened to contact us. Please call the Kent Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit appeal line on 01622 798538.”
