An illegal worker has been caught working in a Faversham restaurant.
UK border agency officers arrested the man at the Spice Lounge, Preston Street, on Friday.
The 25-year-old man was found to have no legal right to work after failing to leave the UK when his visa expired.
The Bangladeshi man was arrested and remains in detention while the Border Agency takes steps to remove him from the country.
The Spice Lounge has been given a penalty notice.
Karyn Dunning, who heads the UK border agency’s immigration team for Kent, said: “We are determined to crack down on illegal immigrants and anyone found living or working here illegally is liable to be detained and removed.”
