Flowers have been placed at the scene of an accident where a motorcyclist died yesterday morning.
Firefighters, paramedics and police were called to Deanwood Drive in Rainham at 10.45am following reports that a man was trapped underneath a silver Ford Focus close to its junction with Lonsdale Drive.
But despite the emergency services working together to try and save the man he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The motorcyclist, believed to be in his 40's, is yet to be named by the police.
A message attached to one of the bunch of flowers reads: "Sleep well,Paul. A wonderful neighbour and friend. You will be greatly missed. Much love Jo and Marion."
Another message simply says: "R.I.P"
Traffic was diverted away from the scene of the accident after police closed Deanwood Drive from its junction with Long Catlis Road as well as the top half of Lonsdale Drive.
Investigators were brought in to examine the area and the road was eventually re-opened to traffic sometime after 2pm.
