Arson suspected in 10 tonne straw blaze

Two fire engines were called to land near a Rainham farm shop after 10 tonnes of cut straw went up in smoke.

Firefighters from Medway spent just over an hour putting the blaze out near Westmoor Farm Shop in Moor Street, Rainham.

The incident, which happened at 3.51pm on Thursday is being treated as suspicious.

Nobody was injured and the fire did not spread to any nearby buildings.
