Several thousand pounds stolen from post office

POLICE are appealing to witnesses after the theft of a large sum of money from a Kent post office.

A group of around five women, two men and a baby went into the Broomfield post office in Herne Bay at about 11am on Wednesday and distracted staff by asking lots of questions in broken English.

Later auring handover to another staff member, it was found that several thousand pounds had been taken from the unlocked safe.

One of the women - who was carrying the baby - is described as in her late 30s, with black hair with blond streaks and a row of gold teeth in the upper left hand side of her mouth. She wore long clothes and a brown jumper.

A green Peugeot 406 carrying women and a baby was also seen in the area.
