The creator of MyFootballClub, Will Brooks, has admitted that control over Ebbsfleet United's team selection is unlikely to be handed over to members until next season.

The concept was originally sold on the basis of own the club, pick the team, but Mr Brooks has been left disappointed with the level of interest in the team selector.

Over the last two months members have been trialling the team selector to pick a team and a formation from the first team squad for all matches.

Mr Brooks said: "Only 300 members picked a team for the Histon game. Three hundred is not a representation of 29,500 people. It's only about one per cent."

The team selector was due to go live this month but Mr Brooks has been left frustrated by the lack of participation.

He added: "Liam (Daish) was ready to do it this month. I don't agree with people saying 'We'll do it when we know it is real'. People need to show that they are interested and do it regularly."

Members have been invited to discuss the process behind team selection on the website and Mr Brooks revealed that a vote on the way forward is likely to be put to them in the future.
